EUREKA-WEBAIR

Project Eureka – Webair was approved for funding by the Reseacrh Promotion Foundation of Cyprus under the Eureka Cyprus - Current Projects call for proposals. The project concerns the development of a web-based information and decision making system for evaluating air quality in urban and industrial areas, which supports the relevant EU Directives (96/62/EEC), (88/609/EEC), (89/429/EEC, 89/369/EEC) and (90/313/EEC). Emphasis is given on real time analysis and multimedia information, as well as the support of distributed and mobile clients through the internet.

The approach integrates meteorological data and predictions, air quality and emissions monitoring, including mobile sources like traffic, dynamic 3-D modeling and forecast, GIS system exploitation, special systems, optimization, reporting and support tools in an integraded client/ server framework that will be applicable as a series of application services accessible on the internet. Total budget will reach €47.000 .
